Create a new assessment
To create a new assessment for your course:
1. Select your course in the Course Builder, Course Admin screen.
2. Select the CREATE ASSESSMENT button.
The Create Assessment pop-up is displayed.
3. Enter the assessment name.
4. Select the CREATE ASSESSMENT button.
The Assessment Editor for <Name of course> is displayed. Your assessment, at this stage, has no content. You can see a warning message that the assessment has no active sections.

Add sections to your assessment
This article assumes that you have created a new assessment or are adding additional sections to an existing assessment.
You are on the Assessment Editor for <Name of course> page. You can see the status of the assessment in the top right corner of the screen, Active or Inactive. If the status is Active, users can see and complete the assessment. If it is Inactive, it is hidden from end users. You may want to keep your assessment hidden while you create and edit it.
To add a new section to the assessment:
1. Select the Add Section button.

Add questions to the assessment
This article assumes that you have created a new assessment and a new Section. You are now ready to add questions to the Section.
To add a question to a Section:
1. Select the Section to open.
The Section is opened and the Questions field is displayed.
2. Select the Add Question button.
The Add a Question pop-up is displayed.
3. Enter the question into the Question Text box.
4. Select an Answer Type from the drop down menu.
5. Select the CREATE button.
Your question is displayed.

Add answers to your questions
This article assumes that you have added a question and are now ready to add the answers.
To add answers to your question:
1. Open the question you want to add answers to.
The Question expands to display the Answers field.
2. Select the Add Answer button.
The Add an Answer pop-up is displayed.
In addition to entering an answer in this pop-up, you can also create a series of settings and behaviours related to this answer:
- Jump to question - you can choose which question the user will see next, if they choose this answer.
- Trigger an Action - you can select

Edit assessment settings
This article assumes that you have created a new assessment or are editing an existing assessment.
You can edit the assessment name and whether it is active or inactive.
To edit the assessment settings:
1. Select the Edit Settings button from the left navigation menu.
The Edit Assessment pop-up is displayed.
2. You can edit the Assessment Name or change the Active toggle. Any changes you make are reflected in the main Assessment Editor page.
You can see the status of the assessment in the top right corner of the screen, Active or Inactive. If the status is Active, users can see and complete the assessment. If it is Inactive, it is hidden from end

Edit an existing assessment
This article assumes that you have created one or more assessments and wish to edit one.
To edit an assessment:
1. Select your course in the Course Builder, Course Admin screen.
The Course Management screen, for the selected course, is displayed.
2. Select the EDIT ASSESSMENT button.
The Edit Assessment pop-up is displayed.
3. Select the EDIT QUESTIONS / ANSWERS button.
The Assessment Editor for the selected course is displayed.
You can now perform the following actions:
- Add sections to your assessment
- Add questions to the assessment
- Add answers to your questions
- Edit a section
- Edit an existing question
- Edit an answer to a question
- Delete a section
- Delete a question
- Deactivate a section
- Deactivate a question
- Delete answers to questions
- Deactivate answers to questions

Edit a section
This article assumes that you have created an assessment and added sections and are in the Assessment Editor screen.
To edit a Section:
1. Select the Edit button in the Section to be changed.
The Edit a Section pop-up is displayed.
2. Make your changes to the Section Name.
3. Select the SAVE button to save your changes.
The change is displayed in the Assessment Editor screen.

Edit an existing question
This article assumes that you have created an assessment and have added sections and questions and are in the Assessment Editor screen.
To edit a question text:
1. Select the Edit button of the question you want to change.
The Edit a Question pop-up is displayed.
2. Amend the question in the Question Text box.
The UNDO, SAVE and DELETE buttons are displayed.
Select the SAVE button to save your changes.
The update is displayed in the Assessment Editor screen.

Edit an answer to a question
This article assumes that you have created an assessment and have added sections, questions and answers. You are in the Assessment Editor screen.
To edit an answer to an assessment question:
1. Open the question in which you want to edit the answer.
2. Select the Edit button next to the answer you want to edit.
The Edit an Answer pop-up is displayed. See Add answers to your questions for more information on the Jump to Question and Trigger an Action settings.
2. Enter your changes in the Answer Text box.
3. Select the SAVE button.
The edits are displayed in the Assessment Editor screen.

Delete a section
This article assumes that you have created an assessment and Sections and are in the Assessment Editor screen. At this point you want to delete existing Sections, their questions and answers.
To delete a Section:
1. Select the Edit button for the Section you want to delete.
The Edit a Section pop-up is displayed
2. Select the DELETE button.
A confirmation message is displayed.
4. Select Yes to delete the Section, including all its questions and answers.
The Section is deleted.
An alternative to deleting the Section, is to deactivate it. It will remain accessible in the Assessment Editor, but will no longer be displayed

Delete a question
This article assumes that you have created an assessment and added questions and are in the Assessment Editor screen. At this point you want to delete existing questions, including their answers.
To delete a question:
1. Select the question you want to delete. It's a good idea to open this question to check that you are deleting the right question.
2. Select the Edit button.
The Edit a Question pop-up is displayed.
3. Select the Delete button.
A confirmation message is displayed.
4. Select Yes to delete the question and all its answers.
The question is deleted.

This article assumes that you have created an assessment, have added Sections and have accessed the Assessment Editor screen. At this point you want to delete or change Sections. There are different options if you don't want users to see all of the Sections in your assessment.

1. Select the Active button.
The Section is now inactive. The Active toggle is now white and the Section text is displayed on a white background.

This article assumes that you have created an assessment, have added questions and answers. You are in the Assessment Editor screen. At this point you want to delete or change answers to questions. There are different options if you don't want users to see all of the answers to your questions.
The first option is to delete the answers. To do this:
1. Open the question you want to edit.
The answers to the question are displayed. Alongside the answers are an Active toggle and an Edit button.
2. Select the Edit button for the answer you want to delete.
